Job Description: Why you and why us?
The Training Specialist 1 position is responsible for New Hire Training of associates for the Williams-Sonoma care center. This includes the facilitation of material, administrative tasks such as approving/correcting timecards, coaching learners, recording the pace of learners doing computer-based training, and various HR-related tasks as needed including delivering performance improvement plans, suspensions, and terminations.
The Training Specialist 1 position may also be trained to facilitate training for different support groups within the care center, refresher courses, and other training that business needs dictate.

Essential Functions: The nuts and bolts
Effectively facilitate all training given by the Training Department by following the department’s Facilitator Guides
Develop and train assigned new hires, and develop and execute performance plans efficiently
Timely processing of reports, administrative tasks, and other necessary paperwork—please note that this position requires daily administrative tasks and reporting.
Use professional training skills to continually assess needs, performance metrics and create training solutions as needed
Assist business operations where necessary
Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications: What you need to apply
Preferred:
- Minimum 2-4 years of training, facilitation, and classroom management experience with at least 1 year of virtual training.
- 2-4 years of supervisory experience.
- 6+ months of WSI lead or supervisor responsibilities
- Previous experience with the WSI Training Department
- Learning and development background or experience
Required:
- 1 year of WSI floor experience,
- Strong coaching, communication (verbal and written), and customer service skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including basic Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint experience
- Strong administrative skills including record keeping, processing data, scheduling, and on time delivery of reports
- Self-directed, strong problem-solving skills, and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Must complete and pass any trainer certification and/or recertification processes as needed
- Ability to work beyond 40 hours per week as needed
Important Facts:
- This is a Seasonal, Full-time, Exempt-level position requiring schedule flexibility and working beyond 40 hours per week
- Our hours of operation are 6am to 7:30pm Pacific Time, 7 days a week. Work schedule to vary based on business needs
- Daily administrative and reporting tasks are required and will require working outside of the classroom training hours to complete.
